About Workforce Governance
Danni Peel, BA (Hons), MA, CMgr MCMI, DProf Student
“What is good governance if it isn’t sound processes that support conduct that’s free from abuse and corruption and achieves business goals?”
My gift is understanding vision, where a business or individual wants to be and finding ways to remove barriers and advance their journey through solid governance foundations.
Originally made in the sports sector, my competitive appetite and desire to achieve has driven me through my Masters in Sports Business and currently studying my Professional Doctorate in Transdisciplinary Practice.
The application of my policy analysis, complaints, investigations, quality assurance, external verification, root cause analysis and systemic failures has been enabled by roles at local leisure operators, the UK’s Drowning Prevention Charity the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS UK) and the Sport and Physical Activity Sector’s Chartered Institute (CIMSPA).
A few of my successes include
A significant reform to articles of association approved by the Privy Council in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen.
Providing evidence and proposals for solutions used to lobby national government on key issues such as the national workforce register for coaches which was included in the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Sport England strategies, and the Lords Select Committee national plan.
Presenting insights on achieving 5 years of zero drownings in the UK by RLSS UK lifeguarded swimming pools at a National Conference in Australia.
I have additional niche expertise in the gap between employment law and volunteers. Specifically in relation to the management of volunteer workforce such as board directors and trustees and membership management, behaviours and conduct.
There is more to me than a Governance Geek. I am also an advocate of a compassionate culture, leading by listening and sharing your gifts to those who wish to learn. Having this recognised by being part of a team that achieved the 3* Best Companies award, #1 Best non-for-profit organisation to work for in the UK 2022.
It is a privilege to be in a position to share my knowledge, experience and gift with other organisations and individuals who can benefit from some workforce governance magic.
